EV charger rebates by utility
The federal 30C tax credit ended for home chargers placed in service after June 30, 2026, so your electric utility is now the main place to save. Here is what 20 utilities offer for home charging, each checked on the utility's own page (Nov 3, 2026).
Before you buy a charger
- Check who serves your address. The utility name is on your power bill. Several cities are split between two utilities, and each offer applies only to that utility's customers.
- Read the conditions first. Many rebates require a charger from an approved list, enrollment in a time-of-use rate or a managed charging program, or an application within a set number of days.
- Keep every receipt. Most utilities ask for the paid charger receipt and the electrician's invoice, and some ask for the permit.
- Funding runs out. Several programs are first-come, first-served. Check the utility's page on the day you buy.
11 of the 20 utilities below pay a rebate or bill credit toward the charger or the wiring. Others pay for charging off-peak, offer a monthly charger plan, or have no home charger incentive right now.
The 30C credit applies to property placed in service from January 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026 (IRS). A charger installed after that date does not qualify.

Get a quote that fits the rebate
A rebate often depends on details in the electrician's work: a dedicated circuit, a listed charger, a permit and an itemized invoice. Tell the electrician which program you plan to use so the quote covers what it requires.
Already have a quote? Check its prices against typical costs in your area, or see the full EV charger installation cost guide.
Level2Pro is not affiliated with any utility. Programs change without notice; the utility's own page and terms decide eligibility.
